My name is Jake Upham and I attended Huntington Beach High School. I was a part of the HBHS ASB Executive Board as Treasurer, Boys Varsity Volleyball team, President and Founder of the SoCal Beach Volleyball Club, and numerous other volunteering and extracurricular ventures. I am committed to play volleyball and will be attending New York University in the fall where I will be studying business at NYU Stern and intend to pursue a career in entrepreneurship with the goal of founding my own company.

Brennan Lamarra is a recent high school graduate from Huntington Beach High School. Born blind due to a genetic condition, Brennan is using the first few months after high school to attend an immersion program for the blind to learn additional skills needed to be successful in college and beyond. He aspires to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in business and incorporate his love for music in his future career. His hobbies include Brazilian Jujitsu and anything having to do with amusement parks! 

Ryan graduated from Huntington Beach High School and plans to attend the University of California San Diego (UCSD) to major in real estate and development. With a passion for helping others, Ryan wants to dedicate her life to service by pursuing a career in real estate. She looks forward to the countless opportunities and career paths the field has to offer, in order to create generational wealth for herself and her family. Ryan will continue to make change in our community, advocating for those less fortunate through her love for real estate.

My name is Taylor Jackson. I graduated from Huntington Beach High School with a 4.48 GPA and was involved in numerous organizations, such as Model United Nations and the Academy for the Performing Arts. In addition to this, I was the president of the Book Club for Change at HBHS. Within the community, I participated in beach clean-ups and heavily advocated for the implementation of cleaner, renewable energy sources such as nuclear power within the local state government. I will be attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to study Aerospace Engineering, and I am tremendously grateful to be a recipient of the Gil Coerper Memorial Scholarship

My name is Frank Koen Abreu and I am a recent graduate of Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale, California. I maintained a 3.8 GPA and graduated high school with high honors. I was born in Hawaii and come from a 3-generation law enforcement family, along with my dad being an HBPD Detective. I was recruited to play football at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I am excited to continue playing the sport I love while pursuing my educational goals of being a dual major in Finance and Accounting. I am extremely grateful to be a recipient of the Gil Coerper Memorial Scholarship fund. 

My name is Rachael Arnold.  I just graduated from Huntington Beach High School with a 3.89 while playing varsity softball for three years, being a part of the new student orientation team, and recently was a student athletic trainer. I have volunteered with Beach cities community church, Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine, shop with a cop, special Olympics fundraisers, the police departments open houses, and so many other amazing opportunities to give back to the community. I am continuing my education this fall at Truett McConnell University in Cleveland, Georgia. I will be playing softball, as well as majoring in Nursing and a minor in the Great Commission focused in youth ministry. I am truly grateful to be the recipient of this year’s HBPCF scholarship and to call Huntington Beach home. 

My name is Mia Mariano and I attended Marina High School where I was involved in ASB, volleyball, and the founder of a political club. I am furthering my education at San Diego State University where I will be majoring in Criminal Justice. With my degree, I plan on joining or working with law enforcement to help protect my community. I have always had a high respect for law enforcement, so I hope to become a liaison between the community and law enforcement.  

I am Theresa, and I am the proud recipient of the 2022 HBPCF Scholarship. I live in Huntington Beach, California and have graduated from Marina High School in June of 2022. I will be attending UC San Diego in the upcoming fall as a business major. I am very thankful for my accomplishments and I hope that as I continue to mature, I also continue to inspire others to spread kindness in their community and daily life. 

Hi my name is Natalie Ocampo. I attended Ocean View High School. And I will be a first-generation student attending California State University- Fullerton. Thank you to the Huntington Beach Police & Community Foundation Scholarship, I’ll be able to afford and attend a 4-year university this year.
